About the Artist

~ Artist Beth Allen ~

Painting, for me, is a challenge.  I look at a beautiful sunset and ask myself  “can you paint that?”  I make endless notes, sketches and think about mixing colors and sketch small thumbnail
compositions.  When the mood is right, the opportunity is there, I go for it!  It is exciting, rewarding and hard work and I’ve felt that challenge since I was nine years old.

Born in Pennsylvania but raised Out West, I had access to southern California deserts and galleries,  a  source of inspiration.

I am a fourth generation painter.  It was my good fortune to grow up in a family of professional artists and teachers who guided my studies to where I graduated High School with the
Bank of America Award for Artist most likely to succeed and prepared me for on going commercial ventures.

I attended Redlands University, Redlands Ca. with teaching in mind.   Traveled Europe, studied with Fredrick Taubes, European portrait artist also counseled by Walter Foster of the Foster
Art Books, Anaheim,Ca..

My paintings are in private collections on both Coasts, Japan and Europe.  Presently my gallery and studio are in the western store and gallery, Inyo-Dreams, downtown Inyokern, Ca., open
weekends and Friday.
